About Us
Water Resources Solutions, LLC, was founded in 2008 by Don Baker. Don is a Professional Engineer registered in
Kansas,
Missouri, Illinois,
California, Colorado, Nebraska, and Wyoming.
He holds the prestigious Diplomate, Water Resource Engineering, that was awarded to him by the
American
Academy of Water Resources Engineers.
Don holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Engineering Physics and Agricultural Engineering from Colorado School of Mines and
Colorado
State
University, respectively, and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the
University of
Kansas.
Water Resources Solutions is active in several professional organizations including the American Public Works Association, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Environmental and Water Resources Institute (EWRI) of ASCE, and the International Erosion Control Association (IECA).
Don is active in the Environmental and Water Resources Institute (EWRI) of ASCE and is a subcommittee chair for both the Manual of Practice Committee for Erosion & Sediment Control and the Urban Streams Committee.
WRS specializes in stormwater management, stream and lake restoration, river engineering, hydraulic structures, agricultural engineering, stormwater BMPs, and water quality. We provide planning, study, design, environmental permitting, and construction phase services as part of our engineering, restoration, and stormwater BMP services. In addition to design, our hydraulic structures services include dam breach modeling and the production of emergency action plans. Our water quality services include water quality sampling and modeling.
Water Resources Solutions’ clients include local, state, federal government agencies, private enterprises, and other engineering companies. Our work is centered around the Kansas City region, but extends to other states as well.
Water Resources Solutions’ staff includes Professional Engineers (PE) and Certified Professionals in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC).
Water Resources Solutions meets the criteria for a Small Business as defined by the Small Business Administration.
